Privacy Policy
This policy explains how we use and protect personal information when you visit our website or contact us. Last updated 20 September 2026.
Who we are
Elevare Commerce Ltd, trading as Weatherley Phillips, is the controller of personal information described in this policy.
We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17032733. Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
Questions about privacy can be sent to info@weatherleyphillips.com.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide when you request a Business Transition Review, enquire about a business, register an acquisition brief or contact us in another way. This may include:
- your name, email address, telephone number, location, company and role;
- information about your business, industry, revenue, objectives and timing;
- your acquisition criteria, investment range and areas of interest;
- the content of your messages and our subsequent correspondence; and
- information needed to manage confidentiality and a potential engagement.
Our website and hosting providers may also process limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, access times and security logs, to deliver and protect the website.
Please do not send sensitive personal information or confidential business material through a general enquiry form unless we have asked for it and agreed an appropriate way to receive it.
How and why we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and arrange conversations;
- understand your objectives and assess whether our services may be suitable;
- manage business sale, acquisition and advisory discussions;
- protect confidential information, prevent misuse and keep the website secure;
- manage our records and improve our service; and
- comply with legal, regulatory and professional obligations.
Depending on the circumstances, our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating and protecting our business and responding to genuine enquiries. Where the law requires consent, we will ask for it separately and you may withdraw it at any time.
Submitting an enquiry does not add you to a general marketing list. If we introduce marketing communications later, we will provide the choices and notices required by law.
Who we share information with
We may share information only where reasonably necessary with:
- trusted providers supporting website hosting, secure data storage, email, communications and professional administration;
- legal, accounting, tax, finance, due-diligence and other specialist advisers where you ask us to involve them or where this is necessary for an agreed engagement;
- potential buyers, sellers or other transaction parties, but only at the appropriate stage and subject to suitable confidentiality arrangements; and
- regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where disclosure is required by law or needed to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
We do not sell personal information.
International transfers and security
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use providers and safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No online service is completely secure, so please contact us promptly if you believe information has been compromised.
How long we keep information
We retain enquiry information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected. As a general guide, an enquiry that does not become a client engagement may be retained for up to 24 months after our last meaningful contact.
If you become a client or participate in a transaction, relevant records may normally be retained for six years after the engagement ends, or longer where required for legal, regulatory, insurance or dispute purposes. We may delete information sooner where it is no longer needed.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Essential technologies may be used where necessary to operate and secure restricted administration features. If our use of non-essential cookies changes, we will update this policy and provide an appropriate choice before using them.
Your rights
UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information; object to certain uses; receive information in a portable format; and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.
To exercise a right, email info@weatherleyphillips.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version and its update date will always appear on this page.
